The history of Fiorenzo Nada starts in the late 1950’s when Fiorenzo inherited a small plot in Treiso.
Being the son of a wine making family he continued on the tradition, but only ever making bulk wine to sell to local restaurants and then later to other producers. The beginnings of the estate as it is known now are the sole ambition of Fiorenzo’s son, Bruno, who is the chief wine maker for Nada.
Bruno, after leaving his home of Treiso for almost 20 years, found inspiration in a group of wine enthusiasts, who enlightened him on terroir and wine as an expression of the local area. His work begun first by convincing his family not to sell their grapes but instead build a cellar and bottle their own wine, using fewer bunches per shoot to improve maturation.
This may appear a simple or commonplace idea now, but at the time it was revolutionary. In 1982 a Barbaresco and Dolcetto were born and so too the adventure. With each year that passed knowledge has been gained and wines have improved and now from Nada we are offered world class wines that are exactly as Bruno intended – a true expression of the Langhe terroir.
